Allow admins to split topics
Provide the ability for admins to take an idea that was submitted and split it into two.
The reason is because sometimes someone posts an idea that consists of two aspects, that to us, are two different ideas. Lets say we already have one feature they ask for but not another, we cannot assign the statuses to the requests properly.
When splitting, just let us pick what description text and title to put in the new ticket. I realize splitting will cost the voter more votes, but if the workaround to avoid that is let us close one of the requests, essentially the voter gets the idea score on that and the votes they spent go towards the other idea. So when splitting an idea, you should be able to edit the title of and close the initial request, return those votes (and those votes will instantly be put on the other idea).
Another workaround is with per-user votes and give the user free votes when an item was split by admin.

We should be able to split the idea into two feature components.
We should be able to choose whether to copy the supporters into both, leave them in the original, or move them to the new one.
In the end, we need to make a decision on how to interpret and implement.
Also, allowing the option of splitting an idea/suggestion into engineering implementable features help provide greater transparency and communication on progress. -
